I have been making Tahini at home for a while now. It’s so simple that it’s almost a crime to buy it! All it takes is some sesame seeds, olive oil and 10 mins of your time. I also like the flavor of homemade Tahini a lot better, it’s nuttier and grainer. I use Tahini in salad dressings, in sandwiches, in dips and in many cake recipes.
I have been eating a lot of salads and have been trying new dressings to make my salads more interesting. Today I wanted to try something with Tahini and realized that I have run out of it. I had to make a new batch. This time though, I thought I will try something new with my Tahini. Why not make it more interesting by? spicing it up! I was going to use them mainly for salad dressing anyway so I thought a little extra spice in it would be great.
It’s turned out to be fabulous! This spicy Tahini is has strong flavors of cumin, pepper and the mild heat from the chilies. Fried garlic in it only makes it better.
WIll head to the kitchen to make my salad for lunch now. I am sure this can be great for sandwich spreads and dips as it’s a lot more flavorful than the usual Tahini.
I will soon share a recipe for a salad dressing using this but for that you need to have your spicy Tahini ready! Make it today ??
